I am currently a physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology, specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine, at Yale University School of Medicine.
In Brooklyn, at the age of 13, I discovered the magic of words in the pages of Alice in Wonderland, 2 years later I decided to become a physician, at least that is how the story goes. I have written since then, using poetry to make sense of struggle. Knowing that poetry would always be there for me, I moved from rural Vermont to attend medical school at the University of Chicago. I find endless inspiration in medicine and believe there is a powerful and important role for the arts in the process of healing.
